The Bobcat Speech and Debate team had another winning tournament last weekend, bringing home first place from the Greybull Forensics Challenge.
This is the fourth first place win in 1A/2A for the Bobcats with just two tournaments left before their state tourney.
Senior Kyle Mosser led the way for the team taking third place for Drama and first place for Humor as well as garnering the most points for the tourney.
Mosser also placed fifth in duet with his partner Kris Lahoe.
Lahoe brought home a third place with her poetry as well.
The Bobcat extempers had a terrific meet with Jean-Luc Willson placing third, Jacob Randall bringing home fourth and Josiah Butler placing fifth.
Senior Breeze Petty rounded out the tournament wins with a third place in LD debate as well as another first place in Congress.
“Coach Lyle Wiley and I are very proud of this team’s showing at Greybull,” coach Cindy Glasson said. “This is always a down and back tournament for us so the kids are usually very tired the second day. The fact that they won with less sleep than most really shows how amazing they are.
“We have just two tournaments left before our State tourney, Riverton and Worland. It’s been several years since we’ve been to the Riverton tournament so we aren’t quite sure what to expect as far as competition.
“Worland, on the other hand, is always our final tourney of the regular season and its always one that is not only fun, but some tough competition from all over the state.”
While most sports or activities end with a state tournament, the Bobcat Speech team will have an additional tournament to finish off their year, the National Qualifying Tournament in Green River.
That tournament determines which Wyoming students will be representing the state at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico in June.
