Hot Springs County Airport is one of 10 Wyoming airports that will be receiving a portion of $7.2 million designated by the U.S Department of Transportation for airport safety and infrastructure.
According to the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao, Hot Springs County Airport will receive $169,386 to fund a new airport master plan or study.
The grant monies are all part of a $520.5 million national investment in America’s airports to help keep them in good shape and make air travel a better experience for passengers, according to Chao.
Other airports in Wyoming to receive grant funds are the Casper/Natrona County Airport, Yellowstone Regional Airport, Dixon Airport, Evanston-Uinta County Burns Field, Jackson Hole Airport, Pine Bluffs Municipal Airport, Powell Municipal Airport, Riverton Regional Airport and Worland Municipal Airport.
The funds are being used for everything from renovations to snow removal equipment, rebuilding aprons and widening taxiways at the various locations.
“This $520.5 million in federal support to airports across the country will help to keep our nation’s airports in good shape and make air travel a better experience for passengers,” said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao.
With this announcement, the Trump Administration has invested a historic $11.42 billion in more than two thousand American airports across the United States for safety and infrastructure improvements since January 2017.
