Photo reveal at HSC Museum

The Hot Springs County Museum will hold a special event for a famous photo coming out of their vault. They will have a big introduction of one of three known copies of the famous photo of Harry Longabaugh and Etta Place

Longabaugh is better known as the Sundance Kid who was an outlaw member of Butch Cassidy’s gang “The Wild Bunch”.This infamous gang performed the longest string of successful train and bank robberies in American history.

Etta Place was Longbaugh’s significant other and little is known about her.

The reveal for the public will be held on February 20th for the Chamber of Commerce Meet and Greet at the Hot Springs County Museum at 700 Broadway, Thermopolis at 5:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served. For more information or questions, call 307-864-5183 or email: hschistory.org.

There will also be another big celebration on April 18th with a fun day of activities. They include a photo booth with props, goods and coffee, western music and an outlaw presentation. This special presentation will be from Mark Mszanski, historian and contributing editor for True West Magazine and Reveal of the Sundance Kid and Etta Place Photo.
