Edson Buck Carothers, 65, passed away January 25, 2020, at his residence in Thermopolis.
Born March 2, 1954, in Boulder, Colo., he was one of four children of Robert and Erva (Kingsbury) Carothers. The family soon moved to Shell, Wyo. Buck graduated from Greybull High School. In 1974 he married Arvilla Jean Hankinson. In the mid 70’s they moved to Thermopolis.
Buck was employed as a maintenance engineer for the railroad until his health failed.
He enjoyed boating, motorcycles, fishing, operating remote control airplanes and was a gun collector.
Survivors include his children, Jason of Broken Arrow, Okla., Misty Velasquez of Greybull, and Keith of Worland; sisters, Nita Bare and Mildred Lowe of Laurel, Mont., and Jenni Carothers of Shell; five grandchildren; and his companion/caregiver, Lois Haynes of Thermopolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Arvilla.
Joint memorial services for Buck and deceased wife, Arvilla, are pending for March 2, 2020.
