A classical piano and violin concert featuring Andre Bohren and Conor Jacobson will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The 7 p.m. concert brings New Orleans native Andre Bohren back to Thermopolis for a night of entertainment.
Although a native of the Big Easy, Bohren’s family settled in Wyoming when he was just 12-years old. At 16, he performed with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra.
Returning to New Orleans, he studied at Loyola University and founded a rock/funk band, “Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes”, manning the drums and percussion.
Conor Jacobson was born and raised in Wyoming, growing up on a farm near Pavillion.
His study of the violin began at age four and soon after, while continuing with high school, he made weekly trips with his grandfather to Casper for violin lessons.
He continued his musical studies at Casper College and the University of Arizona before pursuing his dream at the world renowned Royal Conservatory of The Hague, the Netherlands.
This concert marks a reunion for the two men as they haven’t played together since Jacobson’s days at Casper College in 2001.
The concert is free, although donations are appreciated. This event is sponsored by the Hot Springs County School District.
