Travel and Tourism director resigns

Amanda Moeller, Director of the Travel and Tourism Board, has resigned her position as of January 1, 2020.  The board is currently seeking her replacement.

Moeller started her role with the board in July 2013 as Tourism Director.  She worked as a board contracted consultant through her company Cowgirl Consulting.

Regarding some of the work, she is proud of she said, “they did a good job branding, utilizing the “Opolis” billboards all over the state that started with different themes and moved toward one theme.” She said this brand strategy was really popular with visitors.  

She also said she worked with some fantastic people with involved board members. She gained strong network contacts throughout the state and nation. She also helped with familiarization tours through the office of tourism. Her role was “rewarding, great, got to show off her hometown and a wonderful community.”

Moeller is now working at Wyoming Whiskey as the visitor and event coordinator there. She also handles merchandising at their gift shop.  

Travel and Tourism board members include president Carl Leyba, vice president Robert Spain, Angie Guyon, Matt Hughes and Robert Roos.

They meet once a month on the third Tuesday at 1 p.m.

A quorum could not be met for Jan. 21 meeting so no formal discussion or action was taken.
