Jimmy Dale Ornsbey

Jimmy Dale Ornsbey, 67, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis.

Born November 7, 1952, in Baker, Ore., he was one of five children of Jack and Thelma (Dunkerson) Ornsbey. The family moved throughout the west coast. Jimmy landed in Oklahoma and in 1975 moved to Wyoming to work in the oil fields.

He was a member of the Eagles Club. Nascar was his greatest enjoyment as well as being a “backyard mechanic”. A traveler, he saw most of the United States.

In 1987 he married Carmen Lynn Harvey in Thermopolis. With this union Jimmy brought 4 children and Lynn, one son.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years; children, James Ornsbey of North Dakota, Dustin Harvey of Thermopolis, and Jessie, Jackie and Polly Ornsbey of Oklahoma; siblings, Floyd of Thermopolis, Phyllis of Oklahoma, and Sandra and Shirley of Thermopolis; twelve grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.

A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life will be held this summer.
