Two coaches with the Hot Springs County School District were recently named Coach of the Year for the fall season by the Wyoming Coaches’ Association.
Brandon Deromedi was chosen for 2A boys golf and Aimee Kay was chosen as middle school coach for volleyball. The pair were chosen by their fellow coaches during the 2019 fall season.
“I was pleasantly surprised with this one,” Kay said. “Having coached for 27 years it is again, nice to be recognized for the time and effort I put in.
“What makes it even sweeter is that I get to coach with some pretty incredible people, so putting extra time in during year is easy.”
“I feel very honored to be recognized as the 2A golf coach of the year,” Deromedi said, “but I do owe the majority of the honor to the student athletes. These kids really put their heart and soul into being crowned back to back 2A state champions and thus, me being voted as coach of the year.
“I hope to continue the winning ways in the coming years and know that the kids will dedicate themselves to improvement. We graduate of couple of key seniors who did a great job of mentoring our younger players and because of their mentoring I feel like we will be strong competitors once again in 2020.
“I would like to thank the student athletes and their parents as well as HSCSD#1 administration and my family, Catie and Boden, for allowing me to coach in 2019.”
