Reba Nadine Odde, 88, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness where she had resided since January of 2018.
Born March 2, 1931, in Thermopolis, she was the second of six children of Roy and Olevia (Thronburg) Collins. She went to grade school on Owl Creek and graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1951.
Reba married Martin J. Odde Jr. January 13, 1951, in Worland, Wyo. Their son, Michael J., was born November 30, 1953. in Thermopolis.
Reba worked at various businesses in Thermopolis, including her aunt Miriam Short's clothing shop, The Golden Rule store, Al Hoffman Accounting, as a special deputy for the H.S. County Sheriff for John Lumley, and as a receptionist for Dr. Forgey. She served as Mayor of East Thermopolis until her move to the Wyoming Pioneer Home. Some of her greatest joys (and frustrations) were as a Foster Grandparent at the Lucerne and Ralph Witters elementary schools.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Denise) Odde of Casper; brother, Roy Keith of Mt. View, Wyo.; grandchildren, Katie Ann Odde and Dane (Amy) and their two children, Shelby and Adam, all of Casper. Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1988; brothers, Russell Elbert and Leland Carl; and sisters, Lillie Darlene Stockman and Polly Ann Davis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 26 at Mortimore Funeral Home. Rev. Chuck Cooper officiated. Burial followed at Monument Hill Cemetery.
