On the Record policy
It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, Oct. 30
12:50 a.m. Report of suspicious activity in the Lucerne area. The complainant believed subjects were spotlighting, but no suspicious activity was located.
Thursday, Oct. 31
4:53 p.m. Emma B. Dorman was arrested on a Sweetwater County warrant.
5:05 p.m. Report from East Thermopolis regarding continuous suspicious calls. Deputy provided information on how to block numbers and assistance in disconnecting the phone.
Friday, Nov. 1
8:59 a.m. Report of a hit and run from the night before, in which a semi backed into a stationary trailer.
9:10 a.m. Report of a single vehicle accident on Highway 20 North, in which the driver lost traction and struck a guard rail.
2 p.m. Complaint of a driver passing a school bus with its stop arm extended, south of town.
2:40 p.m. 911 call originating from the Buffalo Creek area. The deputy checked the area but did not locate anything or anyone suspicious.
3:24 p.m. Request from Department of Family Services to locate a juvenile.
10:08 p.m. Report of runaway juvenile from East Thermopolis. The juvenile was located.
10:28 p.m. Report of a family fight. There was no further information available.
Saturday, Nov. 2
12:11 p.m. Report of a male subject coming to the community. The subject was provided assistance and referred to other agencies.
8:03 p.m. Ashley A. Leary was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana.
11:15 p.m. Request from the Park County Sheriff’s Office to stop traffic to allow Park County to make a felony stop.
Monday, Nov. 4
3:36 p.m. Report of damage to a vehicle in East Thermopolis.
6:20 p.m. Report of an accident on Highway 120 near Owl Creek Road.

Tuesday, Oct. 29
11:42 a.m. Complaint between two juveniles regarding theft of Halloween costumes.
2:55 p.m. An increase of people living in campers has been observed. There is a town ordinance against this.
5:48 p.m. Subject reported losing a bottle of medication. Since the bottle was lost in Sweetwater County, the information was forwarded to officers there.
9:51 p.m. A male subject was cited for possession of marijuana.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
11:24 a.m. Report of a juvenile bringing alcohol to school.
9:33 p.m. A driver was cited for no insurance and speeding.
Thursday, Oct. 31
2:34 a.m. Consent given to search a vehicle. No suspicious items were located.
Friday, Nov. 1
7:29 a.m. Complaint of a tractor trailer parked on Hospital Hill, partially blocking traffic. The vehicle was gone when the officer arrived.
10:05 a.m. A juvenile was cited for simple assault.
12:29 p.m. Report of a minor accident. Vehicles backing up at the same time struck each other.
1 p.m. Karl Bert David Loos was arrested on a warrant.
1:37 p.m. Request from another agency to determine if a subject was at work.
Saturday, Nov. 2
11:31 a.m. Complaint of a subject banging on a door. No subjects were located.
4:29 p.m. A male subject was cited for possession of marijuana.
7:38 p.m. Forrest Kinnaman was arrested on a Sweetwater County warrant.
Sunday, Nov. 3
6:28 a.m. Complaint of people being loud and obnoxious at a local business. There was also some damage to a vehicle but due to the level of intoxication of the subjects there was no further information available.
5:41 p.m. Paul D. Myers was arrested for alleged driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
9:30 p.m. Travis J. Kubik was arrested on a National Crime Information Center warrant out of Washington.
Monday, Nov. 4
8:14 p.m. Report of a physical fight. The involved subjects later recanted, and there was no evidence of physical injury.
10:01 p.m. A female subject was cited for open container and having a suspended license. Fernando M. Ocon and Jose B. Ocon were each cited for alleged fighting in public.
Circuit court
Barbara Hastings was found guilty of open container. Fees and fines are $135.
Arik M. Pierce was found guilty of property destruction under $1,000 and was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $205.
Trevor A. Stimpson was found guilty of exhibition of acceleration and being under 21 and driving with a BAC of .02 percent o more, and was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $390.
