New Good Sam's Club officers selected for 2020

The Thermopolis Good Sam’s Club (Round Top Good Sam’s) at their meeting on Friday, the Nov. 1, elected club officers for the upcoming 2020 year.

Back in the saddle again as President is Sam Marshall. This will be Sam’s second time around in this particular office. Stepping down from her stellar year as President and now the upcoming Vice President is Donna Cole.

The Stickneys have tied up the Secretary and Treasurer position. Charlie continues his contribution to the club as their Treasurer, while his wife, Jo Ann, has become the incoming Secretary.

The position of Wasgonmaster is unfilled. It will be up to the President and his staff to pick a volunteer for the position. The Wagonmaster’s job is to coordinate the various activities of the club and then get the word out to the members on what and where.

The final position “News-Media relations” will be occupied in 2020 by Dick Hall, who has had the job for three years beginning in 2018.

The Good Sam’s clubs are a worldwide organization that promotes the hobby and recreational aspects of outdoor camping. The Round Top Good Sam’s is one of only six such clubs in Wyoming and is one of the oldest in the state.

Good Sam’s clubs are, of course, open to the general public — indeed, it isn’t even necessary that a member have a recreational vehicle or tent or even a sleeping bag. Many of the older members are so-called “Day Campers” that come to a communal campsite just for lunch or companionship.

Anyone interested in the mission and/or activities of the local chapter should contact any of the upcoming officers for further information.

Dues are forgiven for the first year of membership and just $20 a year after that. The club meets on the first Friday evening of every month.
