The Hot Springs County Historical Society will be hosting Phyllis Baker and Cynthia Garbin this Saturday for a special presentation on The American War Mothers – Claude Branham Chapter of Thermopolis.
For many generations, mothers have bravely sent their young sons and daughters off to war while supporting them from the home front.
In honor of “The Year of the Woman,” Baker and Garbin will present a mother’s side of the war effort throughout America’s times of conflict. The program will feature a walk through the new exhibit in the museum, offering a glimpse of the support efforts by local mother since the organization of the “Mother’s League” in 1917.
The free program will begin at 2 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center and is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
