On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Clarification

It should be noted that the school board story appearing in the Oct. 24 edition is taken from the meeting minutes, which are considered unofficial until approved by the board at the next board meeting.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, Oct. 22

4:41 p.m. Complaint of loud music from a vehicle in Hot

Springs State Park. The driver was contacted and stated he was wanting to try out his new sound system. The volume was lowered.

4:50 p.m. Caller reported hearing a scream in East Thermopolis. The deputy did not locate anyone screaming but did locate some children, who advised they hadn’t heard a scream.

6:10 p.m. Caller advised he saw sheetrock fall off a trailer. The trailer was located and it was found the load was secure and nothing had come off.

Thursday, Oct. 24

5:26 p.m. Complaint of a bag of trash left on BLM land.

9:19 p.m. Caller said a nasty comment in regard to law enforcement then hung up. An officer felt he knew who the caller was and located him. Robert J. Hunter was arrested on a probation hold.

Friday, Oct. 25

2:18 p.m. Traffic complaint from a driver who had pulled over to try and get a few dogs off the highway, and advised a bus did not stop. The driver was advised he was not in an emergency parking lane.

Monday, Oct. 28

9:21 a.m. Traffic complaint received from Wyoming Highway Patrol. The suspect vehicle was not located but it was known to be northbound, so Washakie County was notified.

4:38 p.m. Complaint of a driver passing a bus with its stop arm extended on Highway 20 South.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

2:50 a.m. Report of an intoxicated male subject following a female employee around a business. An officer responded and got him to leave.

5:18 p.m. Reported traffic offense, but the suspect vehicle could not be located.

5:36 p.m. A homeowner wanted a vehicle parked in front of his house a long time removed.

Wednesday, Oct. 23

3:49 p.m. A female subject called to report a theft.

Thursday, Oct. 24

6:46 a.m. Found license plates were returned to their owner.

1 p.m. Report of vandalism to a picnic table at Candy Jack Park.

2:11 p.m. Report of a syringe found in a hotel. The syringe was properly disposed.

Friday, Oct. 25

6:03 p.m. A traffic stop resulted in a consent search, during which nothing was found.

9:21 p.m. Report of an intoxicated male subject. The subject could not be located.

9:56 p.m. A male subject was cited for careless driving.

Saturday, Oct. 26

9:48 a.m. Reported theft of a bag of chips. The suspect was contacted and paid for it.

11:53 a.m. Complaint of loud music. The responsible parties turned it down.

3:26 p.m. Officer assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with traffic control, while a horse that fell through a stock trailer floor was dispatched.

9:56 p.m. James M. Goins was arrested for alleged criminal trespassing and breach of peace. Blake L. Matthew was arrested for alleged criminal trespassing, interference with a peace officer and breach of peace.

Sunday, Oct. 27

5:44 p.m. A male subject was cited for possession of marijuana.

8:10 p.m. A homeowner reported his video doorbell recorded two male subjects possibly trying to gain entry to the home. No entry was gained.

Monday, Oct. 28

8:45 a.m. Complaint of a vehicle blocking a driveway. The owner was contacted and moved it.

Henry Collamer was born Monday, October 21, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Kayte and Paul Collamer

He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

Archie Hurley was born Monday, October 21, 2019 at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Abigail Schallot and Zackery Hurley.

He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Grandparents are Shawna Schallot and Melissa and Mathew Hurley.

Circuit court

Justin E. Seilaff was found guilty of driving under the influence and was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $205.

Tara Soneson was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $155.

Deanna S. Morgan was bound over to district court on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy.

Noah S. Degrange was found guilty of being under 21 and having measurable BAC in body. Fees and fines are $255.

Austin L. Weaver was found guilty of being under 21 and having measurable BAC in body. Fees and fines are $255.

Lisa M. Riggs was found guilty of selling or furnishing alcohol to a person under 21. Fees and fines are $155.

Vickie Sandt was found guilty of driving under suspension. Fees and fines are $435.
