Celebrate 4-H achievements

Hot Springs County 4-H will be holding their annual Achievement night on Saturday, November 2.

The event will be at the fair building starting at 5 p.m.

4-H families should bring two side dishes per family along with your own plate and silverware.

Come out and support 4-H youth and their end of the year accomplishments in leadership and their project areas.

Shooting sports begins

Guns are a way of life in Wyoming and its best to teach kids early about safety and responsibility when it comes to firearms as well as how to hit what they’re aiming for.

Wyoming 4-H has a shooting sports program that not only teaches safety and responsibility with firearms, but shooting techniques with everything from a shotgun or rifle to air guns, muzzle loaders and archery.

The overarching goals for the program also include basic skills and basic positions for shooting along with respect for firearms and of course, having fun.

Hot Springs County 4-H will begin their shooting sports program on Monday, November 4, with air rifle and air pistol at the armory.

Everything begins with a member and parent safety meeting that evening at 5 p.m. with shooting beginning the following Monday, Nov. 11.

Shooting times will be determined once the program coordinators know how many students will be taking the various classes.
