High placers at cross county regionals

Thermopolis was home to the Five Rivers Conference Meet last Friday, and the runners really showed they knew their home course. Three of our girls placed in the top 10, and all placed in the top 25.

All-Conference honors were awarded to top 10 placers Tahja Hunt, McKenna Bomengen and Hallie Martinez, and the girls team placed second behind Wyoming Indian.

The runners will travel to Afton this Friday, for the state competition on Saturday. Boys will run at 12:30 p.m., with girls at 2 p.m.

Runner times and places are as follows:

Girls: Hunt third, 22:02.40; Bomengen fourth, 22:27.83; Martinez seventh, 23:31.21; Rebekah Johnson, 25:43.62; Dayna Crow, 26:14.07

Boys: Isaac Robinson, 23:42.22

Splits are:

Hunt: first mile 6:36, second mile 7:14, 1.1 mile 8:12

Bomengen: first mile 6:33, second mile 7:09, 1.1 mile 8:45

Martinez: first mile 6:57, second mile 7:41, 1.1 mile 8:53

Robinson: first mile 7:26, second mile 7:42, 1.1 mile 8:34

Johnson: first mile 7:58, second mile 8:19, 1.1 mile 9:26

Crow: first mile 7:54, second mile 8:51, 1.1 mile 9:29
