Wyoming history: Oct. 10-16

Here’s a few interesting tidbits from years gone by:

•Oct. 10: In 1902, bounty hunter Tom Horn was tried in the murder of Willie Nickell.

•Oct. 11: In 1912, the movie “Charge of the Light Brigade,” filmed at Pole Mountain near Laramie, premiered.

•Oct. 12: In 1890, Wyoming’s first elected state officers took their offices.

•Oct. 14: In 1931, 30 skunks were killed in Guernsey.

•Oct. 15: In 1887, mail service between Lander and South Pass City was discontinued.

•Oct. 16: In 1943, a man was gored by a deer in LaGrange, south of Torrington.
