On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Clarification

The story of the 300th Armored Field Artillery Battalion members meeting in the Sept. 26 edition should include AJ Burns as among those who met.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

7:21 p.m. Report of a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver was contacted and warned about his driving.

8:20 p.m. Report of a vehicle vs. deer accident south of town. The animal was dispatched.

9:40 p.m. Complaint of a motorcyclist not driving safely. The driver was contacted and cited for reckless driving.

Thursday, Sept. 26

12:32 p.m. Assistance provided to Department of Family Services in regard to a home visit.

Friday, Sept. 27

9:51 p.m. Shannon Mitchell was arrested on a warrant.

Saturday, Sept. 28

2:21 p.m. Report of salesmen going door-to-door. The salesmen were contacted and advised to obey “no trespassing” signs.

Sunday, Sept. 29

1:22 p.m. Assistance provided to Probation and Parole for a home check.

Monday, Sept. 30

1:24 p.m. A courtesy ride was provided to Shoshoni.

Police department

Tuesday, Sept. 24

2:55 p.m. Though originally a REDDI report, the driver was found to not be intoxicated.

5:11 p.m. A set of keys was found and has not yet been claimed.

6:41 p.m. Complainant reported a tailgating camper. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

8:02 p.m. Contact made with a subject who is on probation. A urine analysis resulted in a probation violation.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

3:59 p.m. Accident between a vehicle and child. There were minor injuries to the child and minor vehicle damage.

4:39 p.m. Report of a suspicious subject in front of a bank. The subject was contacted and told to move along.

Thursday, Sept. 26

8:29 a.m. Report of a handle taken off a toilet at a local business.

9:38 a.m. Report of check fraud. The business was advised not to accept checks for certain items.

3:38 p.m. Complaint of people not slowing down at a school crosswalk. Extra patrol will be provided.

4:21 p.m. Reported theft from a business. The subjects responsible were contacted and returned to pay for the items.

7:22 p.m. Report of salesmen going door-to-door. The salesmen didn’t realize they needed a license and got one.

Friday, Sept. 27

9:36 a.m. Assistance provide to the probation office out of Fremont County.

1:57 p.m. Officers assisted in investigating a family fight reported by Department of Family Services.

7:21 p.m. Dominic M. Magelky was arrested for alleged use of a controlled substance.

Saturday, Sept. 28

12:45 a.m. Report of a citizen dispute. The involved subjects were contacted and told to go home.

1:35 a.m. Michael J. Wells was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine.

2:25 p.m. Jacquelyn M. Tuttle was arrested on a warrant.

11:03 p.m. Report of a stolen wallet. The complainant later located it in his hotel room.

Sunday, Sept. 29

12:39 a.m. Two male subjects were cited for minor in possession. A female subject was cited for providing alcohol to minors.

8:23 p.m. Christopher C. Martin was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

8:24 p.m. Karl Bert David Loos was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

Monday, Sept. 30

4:38 p.m. Report of damage to a decorative street light.

9:15 p.m. Jim M. Gustitis was arrested for alleged interference with a peace officer.

Births

Lemmyton Bihr was born Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Adele and John Bihr.

He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Helene and the late Mike Fillman and the late Rosanne and Dean Bihr.

Cooper O’Rourke was born Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Jennifer and Reid O’Rourke.

He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

Grandparents are Jim and Shelly Causey and Craig and Barbara O’Rourke.

Circuit court

Daileen S. Hernandez was bound over to district court on four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Debra Rice was found guilty of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and controlled substance, and cited for possession of a controlled substance, and received six months supervised probation. Fees and fines are $510.

Autumn Richins was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and open container, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $260.

Austin V. Monte was found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report more the $1,000 property damage or injury. Fees and fines are $1,080.
