Virginia Mae Bury, 90, passed away September 16, 2019, at Washakie Medical Center in Worland. She was presently residing at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 19, 1929, in Butte, Mont., she was one of three children of Ralph and Winifred (Dunstan) Noble. The family moved to Thermopolis when Virginia was in high school. On November 11, 1948, she married Henry Bury in Thermopolis, Wyo. Three sons were born to this union.
A bookkeeper for much of her life, she was employed by Batzer Oil as executive secretary/bookkeeper, Dr. Spiller's receptionist and office manager/bookkeeper and for Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in accounting. She was an active member of BPOE and VFW Auxiliaries. Virginia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, slot machines, cards, reading, playing piano and a good whiskey.
She is survived by her sons, Henry Jr. of Texas, Steve (Sheri) of Thermopolis and Brett of Arizona; grandchildren, Chris, Bob and Josh: and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; brother, Bob; and sisters, Barbara and Ruth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 20, 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Randy Oswald officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Virginia's name sent to the Alzheimer's Association, WY Chapter, 2232 Dell Range Blvd, Suite 220, Cheyenne, 82009.
