Adult volleyball league underway

The 2019 Hot Springs County Rec District Co-ed Volleyball League got underway this past Wednesday, with seven teams competing this year including: 2 Legit 2 Hit, Owl Creek, Beavis and Bumphead, Gassed by Gottsche, How I Set You Mother, Lord Have MRSA and Kikyapunkas.

Getting the first wins of the night was 2 Legit, going 26-24, 25-19 and 25-17 against How I Set.

Gassed got themselves three wins as well, taking down Kikyapunkas 25-13, 25-12 and 25-11. Owl Creek also won three matches against Kikyapunkas, 25-7, 25-5 and 25-11.

Finishing up the night was a three-win victory for Beavis and Bumphead, 25-9, 25-8 and 25-18 against Lord Have MRSA.

Hot Springs County Recreation District Director Anja Abbott said it’s hard to say how the season will go with just one night of games completes, but right now Owl Creek, 2 Legit and Gassed look to be the heavy hitters.

Games are every Wednesday at the high school, at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Playoffs will begin Oct. 30, with the championship Nov. 20.

Scheduled games for Sept. 18 included Lord Have MRSA vs. Owl Creek, 2 Legit vs. Beavis and Bumphead, Gassed vs. Lord Have MRSA and How I Set vs. Kikyapunkas.
