On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

11:02 a.m. Reporting party stated she was receiving harassing online messages from her ex.

11:27 a.m. Report of missing subjects on Highway 20 North. The reporting party advised that two children never showed up for school. The juveniles were found hiding in their home and were spoken to.

2:09 p.m. Report of a missing subject travelling from Montana to Shoshoni. The subject in question did make contact and is fine.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

2:19 p.m. Caller initially advised of a missing person and wanted to talk in person to a deputy. However, the caller did not show up.

11:21 p.m. complaint of a train blocking Black Mountain Road. The railroad was contacted and moved the train.

Thursday, Sept. 5

8:54 a.m. Vehicle vs. Antelope accident on Highway 120. The animal was killed and the vehicle received extensive damage.

10:13 a.m. Report of a juvenile injured in an accident.

12:39 p.m. Caller reported a gunshot in the Red Lane area. The deputy did not find anyone with a weapon or causing issues.

3:16 p.m. Report of a domestic assault in a vehicle. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicle but was later flagged down by the driver, who explained he and the passenger were simply arguing. They agreed to separate for the night.

4:33 p.m. Call from East Thermopolis regarding suspicious activity in a parked vehicle. The vehicle was gone when the deputy arrived.

Friday, Sept. 6

7:18 a.m. Report of a missing subject, who was later found unharmed in Riverton.

2:45 p.m. Caller from south of Town reported a call from a lottery scam.

9:59 p.m. Complainant reported someone in one of the commercial pools in the state park. Subjects were not located in the pool, but in the picnic area, and were told the park was closed.

Sunday, Sept. 8

9:02 a.m. Report of damage to an area in Red Lane.

Monday, Sept. 9

11:10 a.m. Trespass notices issued on subjects.

4:21 p.m. Reported accident between a car and truck on RFN 158 on Highway 20 South.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

11:59 a.m. Complaint of a stuffed toy taken from a business lobby.

3:46 p.m. Two subjects were cited for possession of marijuana.

5:09 p.m. A rent check someone found was returned to its owner.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

4:58 Report of a subject having made entry into a church. No items were missing.

6:38 p.m. Brandon J. Burr and Brandon C. Hepko were arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

11:14 p.m. Report of two male subjects fighting. They were contacted and said they were only horsing around. The decided to go their separate ways.

Thursday, Sept. 5

1:24 a.m. Traffic stop on a juvenile male, whose father was then called.

8:29 a.m. Officers assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with an accident on Hospital Hill in which a semi and a trailer hauled by a pickup collided.

9:57 a.m. A male subject was cited for assault and property destruction.

4:25 p.m. Civil standby provided at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital, for security reasons.

7:42 p.m. Officer responded to an issue concerning renters. The matter was deemed civil in nature.

Friday, Sept. 6

6:53 a.m. Report of a deer carcass in the road. The town shop was contacted to remove it.

5:18 p.m. Subject found an odd object in his yard and wanted to report it.

6:28 p.m. Report of an unsecured vehicle. The owner was contacted and secured it.

8:38 p.m. Caller was concerned that a juvenile had not returned home from school. The juvenile came home shortly after this call.

9:44 p.m. A juvenile female was cited for minor in possession.

Saturday, Sept. 7

6:52 a.m. Report of a Thermopolis Police vehicle and a brick wall being spray painted. Anyone with information is advised to call the police at 864-3114.

8:27 a.m. Search on a vehicle suspected in the spray painting. There was no evidence found.

10:41 a.m. A driver was contacted and informed of a complaint against him.

6:44 p.m. Two juveniles were cited for minor in possession of tobacco.

Monday, Sept. 9

9:50 a.m. A subject called in concern about the welfare of a child.

10:01 a.m. Report of juvenile having issues at school.

12:40 p.m. Complaint of a business being spray painted. However, the paint color and graffiti design did not match those recorded from previous reports.

5:29 p.m. Report of a couple in a disagreement.

11:51 p.m. Christopher M. Bowman was arrested for alleged driving under the influence and multiple other traffic offenses.
