HSC Museum begins digitizing project

A new digitizing project is getting ready to begin at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center, thanks to a recent grant.

The grant, given on behalf of the State Historical Records Advisory Board will make it possible for the museum to digitize photos, documents and record personal stories of life in Gebo, Crosby and Kirby, with emphasis on the coal mining industry of the time.

The museum is looking for family photos and stories to get the project started. You do not have to give the photos to the museum, rather they will take them, digitize them for their records and return them to you.

This project is an open ended one and anyone with any information, family histories or stories of life in the coal camps or the three towns is encouraged to come to the museum and learn more about the project.
