Craig Allen George

Craig Allen George passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones.

Craig was born in 1952, in Rock Springs, Wyo. As he traveled west, he impacted many hearts leaving his mark along the way. He moved to California in the 80’s where he started a family and had three children. In 1999 he met and eventually married his soul mate, Lori.

Craig grew up working at George’s Ford Center, which his father owned. In the early 90’s, after moving to California, he spent 5 years working at Doug Veerkamp General Engineering as a heavy equipment mechanic. From there, he moved to SMUD where he retired from in 2014. Craig was a mechanical genius who could fix anything and build most things. He was a jack of all trades, and remarkably one of the handiest men to have around. Craig was ambitious & precise. No project was too challenging. A resourceful and inventive man, he had a knack for designing and building anything he may have needed.

He was a true outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many other recreational activities. He was always an upstanding person who lived by the words he spoke. He was tough yet soft, and always willing to offer hope or a helping hand to those who deserved it. He will be remembered for his trustworthy advice, his radiant smile, and his delicious food.

He is survived by his sisters, Joyce and Nancy (Glenn); brother, Ralph; wife, Lori George; children, Brent, Brandon (Lysbeth), Nicole (Justin), David (Ashley), Brittany (Sean) and Danielle (Daniel); and 6 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Theda; father, Allen (Alice), Grandma and Grandpa George; and several others.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 from 1-4 p.m. Services will be held at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Rd., Placerville, Calif. Afterwards friends and family will meet at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges in Camino, Calif., 4310 8 Mile Rd.
