Misti Hayes-Cameron,57, passed away on August 8, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.
Misti was born on January 28, 1962, to the late Vince and Peggy Jo Hayes. Misti was born and raised in Thermopolis, Wyo. Misti grew up on the family ranch where the days were filled with family and animals.
Misti graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1980 where she was active in sports and rodeo. After graduating, Misti joined the Army National Guard where she served proudly as a flight medic. She attended college at Northwest Community College in Powell and then the University of Wyoming.
Misti married John R. Cameron on January 26, 2001, in Casper, Wyo. Misti and John were fortunate to have 14 nieces and nephews of all ages and were able to play a big role in their lives. Their lives were also filled with their loving pets: Wylie, Murphy, and Hondo who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and Charlie who is still here providing comfort and love.
Misti worked many jobs, most of which involved taking care of others. Some of these included the Senior Center, Habitat for Humanity and massage therapy. Senior care and childcare were two things Misti held dear to her heart.
Misti was strong in her faith and had a gift for helping and supporting others. She was known for her fun sense of humor and outgoing personality.
Misti is survived by her husband, John; mother-in-law, Judy Cameron; special angel mom, Pat Ward; sister, Bridget Williams and family; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Peggy Jo Hayes; father-in-law, Jack Cameron; grandparents, Laurie and Flossie Hayes; uncle, Leroy Hayes; and numerous other extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the 12-24 Club, 500 N. Wolcott Street, Casper, WY, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.
