Show your support

Well, we’re finally here. The final home stretch before we’re back to school schedules. It’s been a fun summer with plenty of activities for people to come out, show their support and pump up our community.

But, that same energy we have for our town needs to continue well beyond the summer months. Sports are starting up with golf practice kicking off this week and football, cross country and volleyball on the horizon. While being able to make every game through the season is ideal, it’s also very difficult, but showing our Bobcats our support at home games is simple.

Going beyond the courts, fields and links, speech and drama seasons are gearing up as well.

On the basic level, support can be shown to our students during the school day. If you have kids, give them a little encouragement as they start their school day or drop a note in their backpacks for them to find later.

If you don’t have any youngsters, you can still provide supplies at the schools, help judge events or even set up a time to come in and demonstrate a skill you have or collection you own. And keep in mind that even if you don’t have kids in a game, play or concert, it doesn’t cost anything to just show up and be entertained for a couple hours.

Yes, summer vacation is at its final “hurrah,” but don’t let it be yours. Cheer on into the school year!
