Storyteller wins softball championship

Through all of the weather delays and schedule changes this season, it was Storyteller that came on top of the Hot Springs County Rec District's Adult Co-ed Softball League, with a 22-7 victory over One Eyed Buffalo on Tuesday, July 23.

Standouts from the game were Amanda Deniz with a 1.000 average, two runs and three runs batted in for Storyteller, and Darren Elder with a 1.000 average, two runs and one run batted in for OEB.

Just before the championship match, the Rated "R" Superstars secured third place with a close 15-13 win against One Stop Repair. Standouts were Josh Henry with a 1.000 average, two runs and three runs batted in for the Superstars, and Jake Korte with a 1.000 average, two runs and three runs batted in for One Stop.

In the week leading up to the final matchups, July 16 saw the final game for Slide One In, as the Superstars won 11-4. Standouts were Dr. Mattson Mathey with a with a .750 average, two runs and four runs batted in for the Superstars, and Brock Merrill with a .500 average, one run and two runs batted in for Slide One In.

It was also the final game for Robin Batsman, with an 18-9 loss to OEB. Standouts were Shane Mailloux with a 1.000 average, three runs, six runs batted in and a home run for OEB, and Trey Ottley with a 1.000 average, one run and one run batted in for Robin Batsman.

On July 18, Storyteller won 18-10 against the Superstars, and OEB won 13-4 against One Stop.

Standouts in the first game were David Evans with a 1.000 average, two runs, three runs batted in and a home run for Storyteller, and Dan Hemann with a 1.000 average, three runs, one run batted in and a home run for the Superstars. Second game standouts were Carnell Deere with a 1.000 average, two runs and three runs batted in for OEB, and Korte with a 1.000 average, one run, two runs batted in and a home run for One Stop.
