On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, July 10

10:56 a.m. Subject reported fraudulent charges to a debit card.

10:59 a.m. Request for assistance in a family matter. The request was later cancelled.

11:38 a.m. Report of a registered sex offender who has left the community and has not registered a new address.

12:53 p.m. Complaint of a subject driving erratically. The driver was stopped and admitted he was not paying attention to the road, and he received a warning.

1:54 p.m. Civil case involving an alleged harassment.

6:29 p.m. Complainant reported his vehicle was hit near his residence in East Thermopolis. There were no suspects.

Thursday, July 11

12:33 a.m. Christopher C. Martin was arrested for alleged theft. A male subject was cited for interference with a peace officer.

8:16 p.m. REDDI report on a vehicle heading into town. The suspect vehicle was not located.

10:24 p.m. Reported protection order violation. Information was forwarded to the county attorney.

10:31 p.m. REDDI report, though when the vehicle was located and stopped there was no alcohol or signs of impairment. The driver stated his vehicle was having some issues.

Friday, July 12

8:16 a.m. Report of a fish feeder vandalized in the state park.

Saturday, July 13

4:48 p.m. Report of a vehicle travelling slowly at Buffalo Creek. The driver was contacted and said his vehicle was overheating.

Sunday, July 14

12:20 p.m. Report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol of a vehicle being driven erratically. The vehicle was located and observed, and the driver was cited for failure to yield.

4:38 p.m. Deputy assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol in regard to a vehicle that lost a tire in the canyon.

9:40 p.m. Report of a vehicle vs. antelope accident on Highway 120 West.

Tuesday, July 9

3:58 p.m. Thomas M. Adams was arrested for alleged vehicle theft.

Wednesday, July 10

7:29 a.m. Officer responded to a citizen dispute at the dog park.

2:05 p.m. A found debit card was returned to its owner.

3:22 p.m. Complainant believed someone was letting his dogs out of his yard.

8:40 p.m. Report of a family fight, which was verbal in nature.

8:48 p.m. Complainant felt he had been struck by a rock or BB.

Thursday, July 11

8:22 a.m. A trailer plate was located and returned to its owner.

9:32 p.m. A lost bumper with an attached plate was found and returned to it owner.

Friday, July 12

10:44 a.m. Civil standby provided while property was collected.

1:45 p.m. Teresa Velazquez was arrested on a warrant.

7:45 p.m. Subject riding dirt bikes on private property were told to leave.

9:29 p.m. Report of juveniles riding lawnmowers up and down the street.

Saturday, July 13

8:26 a.m. REDDI report, though when contacted the driver stated his vehicle was having mechanical problems.

Monday, July 15

6:04 p.m. An out-of-state subject was found to be looking in windows, but said he was because he liked the architecture.

Police officers have also responded to several reports this past week of a male subject sleeping at various locations .

Charlotte Blackhawk was born Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Rebecca Blackhawk and Brandon Dumas.

She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Liz Russell, Charles Blackhawk, Ronda See and Guy Dumas.

Kaia Judy Sondrup was born Friday, July 12, 2019, to Kaili and Logan Sondrup.

She weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 21.75 inches long.

Grandparents are Tobi and Sonja Johansen of Thermopolis, Wyo., and Shawn Fischer of Sandy Utah.

Great-grandparents are Dora Theobald of Sandy, Utah, and Dan and Judy Roling of Redding, Calif.

Mariah Dawn Roat was born Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Tiffany Bruce and Rocky Roat.

She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Holly George, Mike Bruce and Joanna Roat.
