The 4th of July is over and now begins the great race to the start of school. For parents, this is either a blessing or a curse, depending on how you feel about back-to-school shopping, and for kids, well, let’s just say they are probably not counting down the days.
Between now and the first day of school there are a lot of events going on to help ease the pain of the start of school.
For instance, this Friday and Saturday you can check out the ArtStroll downtown or maybe enjoy some barrel racing with Kick ‘em up Cans at the fairgrounds.
There’s also fun in the State Park this weekend with the annual Gottsche Volleyball Tournament.
The All Class Reunion is coming up next weekend, so get out there and connect with old friends at the dance at the VFW on Saturday night, July 21.
County fair week, Pageant Days weekend and the Folk Festival are all right around the corner, too, as well as the summer season finale – the demolition derby.
And in between all of that are various concerts in the park.
So mom and dad, try not to look too excited that the kids will soon be back in school, and kids, make sure you get plenty of ice cream before your summer is over!
If you're looking for an excuse to celebrate, July 10 marks the 129th birthday for the State of Wyoming, so raise a toast to the Equality State becoming the 44th State in the Union.
