On the Record policy
It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, July 3
11:13 a.m. Complaint of receiving threatening online messages. It was discovered that the messages were about politics in general and were non-threatening.
Thursday, July 4
10:31 a.m. A male subject reported that his dogs were taken.
12:30 p.m. Deputy responded to a complaint at Red Lane. Carol W. Pickett was arrested for alleged trespassing.
Friday, July 5
9:48 a.m. Deputy received a report of a vehicle driving from Shoshoni toward Thermopolis, doing 100 miles per hour. The vehicle was stopped by Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Saturday, July 6
12:29 p.m. Subject reported his estranged wife had taken property to South Dakota and not followed proper procedure to do so. The complainant was given the proper number to call.
Sunday, July 7
3:54 p.m. A female subject reported a prescription bottle was dropped off on her patio, containing a pill that was not hers. The bottle and other prescription medicine were disposed of properly by the responding deputy.
Police department
3:41 p.m. Subject reported theft of miscellaneous property.
8:44 p.m. Complaint of two subjects having a loud discussion over a bad car deal. The subjects were sent inside.
Friday, July 5
9:35 p.m. Complainant reported her garage door kept going up and down. It was determined to be a malfunctioning remote.
Saturday, July 6
12:06 p.m. A subject was cited for driving on a suspended license.
6:35 p.m. Complaint of people going door-to-door offering hail damage repair. They were informed that they needed a permit.
Sunday, July 7
1:34 a.m. A male subject was cited for minor in possession.
3:07 p.m. Arik A. Amundson was arrested for alleged public intoxication.
Monday, July 8
3:24 p.m. Complaint of loud music coming from a residence that had its doors open. Contact was made and the doors were closed.
6:20 p.m. Report of lost gray ear protectors.
7:28 p.m. A subject attempting to sleep at a business was told to move along.
Law enforcement also responded to 27 fireworks complaints this past week.
Circuit court
Tanner L. Boss was found guilty of use of a controlled substance and being under 21 with a measurable blood alcohol concentration, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $660.
