Margaret (Peggy) Johanna Talbott, 80, passed away in Billings, Mont., on June 9, 2019, with family by her side.
She was born in Greybull, Wyo., on October 4, 1938, to Edward Everett Talbott and Inez Margaret Alderdice Talbott. She grew up in Elk Basin and Powell, Wyo.
Margaret was a client of Big Horn Enterprises and lived in their Thermopolis, Wyo., group home since January, 1980. She was outgoing and kind hearted. She easily made friends and liked to visit with people when she was out and about in Thermopolis. Margaret enjoyed bowling, picnics, fishing and camping, and watching movies. She participated in Special Olympics and her favorite pastimes were art and completing beautiful jigsaw puzzles, which were framed and hung in the workshop. She attended First Baptist Church.. Margaret was fortunate to travel to Branson, Mo., and the Black Hills in South Dakota and shared fond memories of these for years to come.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Talbott; nieces and nephews, Joni Williams, Jim Haigh, Scott McArthur, Cathy Wilson, Diana Birkrem, Ed Talbott, Mike Talbott, John Talbott, Pat Talbott, Georgia Harvey-Mason, Jeri Harvey, Teri Cozzens, and Chris Galindo, and their children and grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jacquelyn Haigh McArthur, William Talbott, Gerald (Mike) Talbott, and Nancy Harvey; niece, Susan Pruett; and nephew, Jerry McArthur.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m. at the Big Horn Enterprises shop, 641 Warren, in Thermopolis. Private graveside services will be held on June 29 at Crownhill Cemetery in Powell.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Montana or Wyoming or a charity of one’s choice.
