Carswell gears up for local census

This coming year, 2020, marks the year for the U.S. census to be taken throughout the country.

Getting an accurate count of everyone in households across America is extremely important, not just for population counts, but the census is used to determine all manner of federal funding.

Judy Carswell, the person in charge of the census for Hot Springs County, said, “We have formed a committee called the Hot Springs 2020 Census CCC or Census Complete Count Committee to help get the word out to the public about the census.”

Informing and educating the community on the importance of the census is their main focus, ensuring they understand not only is it their civic duty, but it affects people of all ages, races, cultures and ethnicities, regardless of whether they are a U.S. citizen or not.

Responses for the 2020 census can even be done online this time as well as by phone or email, making it even easier for people to make sure they get counted. Of course, there will still be census takers going through your neighborhoods.
