Tell dad how much he means to you

This weekend marks a very special day for millions of men across the world – Father’s Day.

Its sometimes hard for us to come up with just the right words to tell our fathers how much they have meant to us as we’ve gone from taking our first steps to heading off to college or starting a family of our own.

Sure, you could go with the same ugly tie or more tools, even stuff for his master grilling on Saturdays, but what do those really say?

Your dad was the one who taught you to be silly because he was more than willing to act like a little kid when the time was right.

When your boyfriend broke up with you, it was your dad who kissed your forehead and told you boys were gross. For the boys, he probably shared his worst pick up lines, the ones that worked on your mother.

He taught you how to ride a bike and helped you with your amazing science projects.

As you grew, your father helped you navigate the tough stuff. If you messed up, your dad was the one who set you straight with his gruff voice, but you knew he loved you, even if you weren’t sure he would.

Daddy walked you down the aisle.

Your father held your first born and told you how proud he was.

This weekend, maybe instead of that ugly tie, just sit with your dad, reminisce and tell him how much you appreciate all the love and care he’s given you through the years.

If your dad has passed away, take time to reflect on happy memories you have of him.

Happy Father’s Day to all those dads out there.
