Start getting your entry shined up for the car show

Father’s Day is less than a month away, and with it comes the 27th annual Hot Spot Car Rally, June 15 and 16. In addition to the cars lined up in Hot Springs State Park, there will be plenty of food and music available.

Though the show is free to admirers, those who want to showcase their cars have to pay a $30 fee, which covers one vehicle and includes a t-shirt. Other fees are $15 per additional shirt and $10 per additional car.

The rally is a casual two-day event starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 with pre-registration and the Ted Spatol Memorial Poker Run. This time also includes a casual gathering of car enthusiasts and will end with an official Parade of Cars leaving Hot Springs State Park and travelling through town at 4:30.

The main event, also called the “Show and Shine,” will be Sunday, June 16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the state park. In addition to the music and food available, there will be a raising of the U.S. Flag in honor of those who have served our country.

Door prizes will be given to paid entrants through the day, as well as trophies awarded at the close of the show at 3 p.m.
