Campground project nears completion

If you’ve driven through Wind River Canyon any time during the last few months you’ve probably noticed some work going on at the Upper Wind River Campground.

According to Gary Schoene with the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources, the work is to install rip rap and repair stream bank erosion along the west side of the campground that faces the river.

Wilson Bros. Construction out of Cowley is the general contractor for the project and not only are they doing the erosion work, they are performing other miscellaneous tasks and site cleanup.

Schoene said the project is expected to be completed in mid-May, just in time for tourist season.
