TMS passes personal records goal

“We had another stellar weekend in Worland,” coach Brandon Deromedi said of the middle school track team’s meet last Saturday. “We had a goal to have 30 individuals PR (personal record) in at least one event . . . we had 31 individuals do that plus two relays. 

“It was a smaller meet than normal for Worland but we still competed at a high level obtaining 67 top 10 finishes, including 11 event winners. School records were also broken by Roedy Farrell in the 200 meters, Ethan Music in the 100 hurdles and 200 hurdles, and Brody Sorensen tied the school record in pole vault. 

“Other highlights were Roedy Farrell’s PR in the triple jump by five feet, Saraiya Sosa’s PR in the disc by 12 feet, Ethan Crow’s PR in the 1600 by 17 seconds, Austin Slagle’s PR by 18 seconds in the 800, Kanyon Gerber’s PR in the 1600 by 25 seconds, Kaia Galovich’s PR in high jump by six inches and Kaitlin Barral’s PR in discus by nine feet. Jessen Basse and Kanyon Gerber both PR’d in all four of their events as well!  It was a great weekend. 

“We hope the weather holds for a good week of practice and then we will have our home meet on Saturday which also serves as the conference meet. Lander, Riverton, Worland, Powell, Cody, Lovell and Thermopolis will compete for conference titles!”
