On Monday, April 15 in Hot Springs District Court, Tiphanie Reynolds received multiple prison sentences from Judge Bobbi Overfield — many of which were suspended for probation — on charges stemming from an August 2018 incident.
Reynolds received a sentence of two to four years, served concurrently on each of three felony counts of child endangerment, exposure to meth. Those charges were suspended and Reynolds was given three years of supervised probation.
She was also sentenced to two to four years for felony possession of meth, served consecutively. Again, the prison time was suspended for an additional three years probation.
On a fifth charge of misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine, she received a sentence of time served. On the final charge of conspiracy to deliver meth, she received a prison term of six to 10 years, though under the provisions of a split sentence she will serve one year in Hot Springs County Jail with 82 days credit for time already served.
The charges against Reynolds occurred when deputies were requested by a probation officer to perform a search on Reynolds’ residence, which is a camper, as she had failed to provide a urine sample at her probation appointment earlier in the day and stormed off.
Deputies went to Reynolds’ residence but she was not there. They were informed she had taken one of her kids to a park, and her vehicle was later located at Hot Springs State Park at the Big Spring turnaround. The probation agent contacted Reynolds and asked for her phone, which Reynolds gave up. Reynolds was then informed her vehicle would be searched and she asked if she could take her son out first. Kraushaar noted the child was in an unbuckled car seat.
In looking at Reynolds’ phone, the probation agent saw multiple messages from known drug users, using street slang for suspected names of drugs, and Reynolds actively answering.
Under a seat of the vehicle, a digital scale was located. Deputy Bartlett also located two hypodermic syringes in a basket. One was loaded with a liquid that later tested presumptive positive for meth, and it was noted that the syringes were on the floor of the vehicle, about a foot from where the unbuckled child was.
Also in District Court, Jacob McCreery was sentenced to five years probation for felony strangulation of a household member. According to the charge, on Nov. 22, 2018, McCreery slapped an choked a female subject during an argument.
