It is with deep regret and sadness that I had to submit my resignation for the Hot Springs County School Board, effective immediately. I approached this position as the next step in my ability to make a difference in the lives of students and staff alike. I never expected to resign after three meetings. Unfortunately, my health has taken a downhill turn, and I must put all of my strength and energy into the hardest fight of my life.
As I stepped down, I reminded the school board and administrators that they have the most important job in the world — and that is doing what is best for the students of Hot Springs County — remember these kids are individuals that need to build relationships with the adults in their lives — this is way more important than any test score — knowing that someone cares about them as a person.
I also asked the board that as they looked at applicants to take my place, think about the statement made by you the voters in November — the need for change.
I sincerely regret that I cannot fulfill my term as elected by you, but I hope you understand and will keep me and my family in your prayers as we fight this battle together. Thank you!
