Gottsche Rehab and Wellness is working to provide a way for people to memorialize their loved ones, an effort that began with the Wednesday, April 3 dedication of a bench on the property in memory of Chad Shero.
Gottsche Rehab and Wellness CEO Cheryl Shero said they are kicking off their Memorial Park, and all the benches in front will be dedicated as memorial benches. Anyone who has a loved one they want to memorialize can do so with a bench. Additionally, there are plans for trees with brick enclosure; those bricks can also be dedicated to loved ones. Bronze memorial plaques are also planned for the outside wall.
Another plan is to set up a covered area with a barbecue for those who want to do a dedication followed by a picnic with family members.
“It’s the kickoff for the future of what we’re going to do for our donor park,” Shero said. “It can be anybody in our community.” Many people don’t know Gottsche is a non-profit that takes donations and contributions, she further added, and many people have wanted to memorialize someone. “Here would be lifelong and permanent.”
