Healthy information

This past year has seen a lot of change in our community. Familiar businesses are shutting their doors while new ones are popping up or coming under new ownership.

Among the changes has been the loss of the annual health fair at Thermopolis Middle School. The event, with its variety of booths for young and old, provided opportunity to get educated and involved about one’s health and wellbeing. Sadly, both the fair and the regularly scheduled blood draws associated with the event won’t be happening this year, nor has there been any word as to whether it will be revived in 2020.

At the Independent Record, we have regularly collaborated with the health fair, putting out a supplement in our regular edition to promote the fair, along with the student health fair, and various services in the area. Fortunately, that supplement is not disappearing with the health fair.

There’s a bit more heft to the March 28 edition, thanks to our Health and Wellness Guide. Though of course you won’t find information on the booths available at the health fair, there’s plenty about our local hospital and other medical services, diet, exercise and health supplements, just to name a few.

We hope that you take the time to read through the information, or even just give it a browse, and keep it handy as a reference to not only what we have available locally, but what you can do for yourself. And keep in mind that while we strive to bring quality info to you, our readers, a medical professional should be sought if the situation calls for it. Happy and healthy reading!
