Fun times on the road

Not only does the calendar say so, all we have to do is look outside to see touches of green and watch as the robins and rabbits are dancing and romancing, ready to welcome their babies.

It's also time for the Hot Springs County Senior Center to begin our season of fun times, great food and enjoying one another’s company. Come join us.

We’ve already enjoyed our first mystery trip and had a great meal in March. We have enjoyed so many wonderful outings and trips together over the past few years. I want to share with you places we’ve been and things we’ve done that have brought us enjoyment and happy memories. Please join us this year for many more fun trips.

Our mystery trips have included great food and music, the opportunity to enjoy museums, wagon rides, more good food and entertainment along with shopping. We’ve taken trips to Sinks Canyon and over the top on Louis Lake Road, stops in Buffalo, Meeteetse, Douglas, Pinedale, Farson, Powel and Greybull. Our wonderful kitchen staff has provided wonderful picnic lunches for many of our trips, which we enjoyed so much in great places. We even shared our lunches with some chipmunk residents.

We’ve enjoyed numerous day trips. Our well planned and special overnight and longer excursions have included wonderful historic education, beautiful scenery, steak cookouts, wagon trips and four very special Broadway plays. We’ve gone on overnighters to see top-notch performers. We’ve also taken lengthy trips to Branson and Niagara Falls, and look forward to other special trips being planned by Trenda (Moore) and our special staff.

All of these special events are made possible by the center’s continuing fundraisers which are the life blood of our center and other non-profit entities. Our trips are not limited by age. All adults are welcome to take part.

Each of you is so important to our senior community.
