Gary Apland, 57, passed away on March 15, 2019, in Gillette, Wyo., surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 8, 1961, to Alvin and Myrona Apland in Worland, Wyo. He was the middle child of three children. He grew up in Ten Sleep and Thermopolis, Wyo., graduating in 1980 from Hot Springs County High School.
He worked for Reda Pump in Thermopolis, Clay’s Pump Service in Powell, Wyo., then Reda Pump and Wyoming Pipe and Tool in Casper, Wyo., as a pump service technician. He later returned to Thermopolis to take care of his mother.
He was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors especially with his dogs.
He is survived by his mother, Myrona of Thermopolis; sister, Tammy (Tim) Hoaglund of Gillette; brother Jere (Donna) Apland of Thermopolis; son Anthony (Katie) and granddaughter Avery of Laramie; nieces, Jenna Hoaglund, Jacee Hoaglund, Kinley (Josh) Taylor, Kylee (Allen) Markey; and uncle, Lonnie Allred of Riverton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin; grandparents, Golden and Clara Allred of Ten Sleep and Get and Bertha Apland of Worland; uncles, Stanley Allred and Willard Allred of Ten Sleep.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
