CRC issues challenge

The Thermopolis Children’s Resource Center (CRC) teamed up with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in 2011 to provide children in Hot Springs County under the age of 5 with a book every month, to provide a resource to build the home libraries of young readers.

In order to continue providing the monthly books CRC has to fundraise and staff are looking for your help in their second annual Change Challenge. Change containers can be obtained from CRC, or people can use their own, and the rules are simple — collect change in your container for a chance to win a prize. The three children with the most weight in change at the end of the challenge will win some awesome prizes including a toy basket and gift certificates.

The challenge begins on Thursday, March 21 and containers must be returned to CRC or to the preschool roundup on April 11. Winners will be announced April 18.

The preschool roundup on April 11 will be at the Thermopolis Fire Hall from 5-6:30 p.m. Local preschools including CRC, Head Start, Risen Son and the Pre-K Academy will be available to help families find the best option to fit their needs and begin the registration process. Developmental screenings can also be set up

Those who are unable to make the roundup can stop by: CRC from 3-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 10 a.m.-noon Monday and Wednesday; Head Start 1-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday; Risen Son 1-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday; or the Pre-K Academy 9-11 a.m. Monday and Friday or 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
