On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Clarification

In the Feb. 7 story about Daniel Ford’s sentencing, it should be noted Ford was in possession of stolen property rather than stealing it.

Friday, Feb. 8

6:26 p.m. Report received of a semi driving with no tail lights. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

8:52 p.m. Report of a subject off the road on Highway 20 South. A male subject was located in a stuck vehicle, covered and laying down in the back seat. The subject waited in the deputy’s vehicle until the help he called arrived.

Saturday, Feb. 9

8:19 a.m. Reported suspicious vehicle on private property in the Buffalo Creek area. The driver moved the vehicle.

Sunday, Feb. 10

2:32 p.m. Report of a subject walking in the canyon. No such subject was located.

Police department

Tuesday, Feb. 5

1:33 p.m. Officers responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenants.

Wednesday, Feb. 6

7:16 a.m. A male subject and a female subject were cited for possession of a controlled substance.

11:39 a.m. Two vehicles attempted to get into the same parking space, slid on the ice and collided.

4:09 p.m. A motorized chair that fell off a truck was returned to its owner.

Thursday, Feb. 7

12:33 p.m. Two male subjects were cited for possession of marijuana.

Saturday, Feb. 9

6:28 p.m. Following a traffic stop, a subject was put through sobriety tests and subsequently given a ride home.

9:17 p.m. A male juvenile was cited for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop.

Sunday, Feb. 10

7:45 p.m. Robert J. Hunter was arrested for alleged domestic battery and interfering with an emergency call.

Monday, Feb. 11

3:37 p.m. Report of a male subject stumbling in the roadway. No such subject was located.

4:37 p.m. Salahuddin Najar was arrested for alleged theft of a vehicle.

5:53 p.m. Andrew B. Meador was arrested for allege bond violation.

Circuit court

Jesse Deacon is bound over to district court on charges of applying pressure to the throat or neck, aggravated assault and battery, domestic assault and interfering with emergency calls.
