As drugs continue to be an issue in our community and our schools, two juvenile subjects were cited last Friday for possession of marijuana by consumption.
Sheriff Jeremie Kraushaar said a quick urine analysis on the spot tested presumptive positive for marijuana.
On Jan. 18, dogs from the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Lander Police Department and Fremont County Sheriff’s Office were used in a search of Hot Springs County High School for illegal substances.
The sweep was done as the result of concern about students vaping, and though the dogs indicated there were illegal substances in the building, officers did not locate anything to corroborate with the scents.
Law enforcement continues to work diligently in the community to cite and arrest those involved with the buying use or selling of illegal substances and those with any information can call the Thermopolis Police Department at 864-3114 or the HSC Sheriff’s Office at 864-2622.
