2018 law enforcement call numbers released

Last year the Thermopolis Police Department responded to a total 2,098 calls, down slightly from the 2,148 seen in 2017.

Among the more prominent offenses were: 346 animal problems, 202 citizen assists, 142 suspicious subjects or circumstances, 93 traffic violations, 72 thefts, 69 traffic accidents with damages, 60 abandoned vehicles, 54 controlled substance problems, 50 citizen dispute, 46 warrant arrests, 45 assists to other agencies, 43 REDDI reports, 40 fraud, 33 family fights, 33 juvenile problems, 31 noise complaints, 29 alarms, 27 intoxicated subjects, 22 traffic hazards, 21 trespassing, 20 driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, 19 vandalism, 13 burglaries, nine harassment, nine runaway juveniles, nine wanted subjects, eight assault, eight child abuse or neglect, eight probation or parole violations, eight threatening, eight violations of court orders, seven attempts to locate, five domestic disturbances, five missing subjects, four disorderly conduct, four minor in possession, four thefts of automobiles three adult protections, four traffic accidents with injuries, three sex offenses, two custodial interference, two hazardous material spills, one assault with a firearm, one assault with a knife, one controlled burn, one identity theft, one inmate problem, one interfering with police, one search and rescue, one stalking, one structure fire and one weapon offense.

Last year also saw 1,424 calls for the Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office, down from 1,920 calls in 2017.

Among these were: 116 citizen assists, 79 suspicious subjects or incidents, 64 traffic offenses, 60 assists to other agencies, 58 gun permits, 50 property damage accidents, 46 animal problems, 27 theft, 26 traffic hazards, 25 REDDI reports, 21 drugs-related incidents, 19 citizen disputes, 18 driving under the influence, 14 trespassing, 14 warrant arrests, 10 juvenile issues, 10 vandalism, nine family fights, six fraud, six minor in possession, five harassment, four attempts to locate, four inmate problems, four personal injury accidents, four theft of a vehicle, four threatening, three intoxicated subjects, three simple assaults, two calls regarding sex offenders, two child abuse or neglect, two missing subjects, two search and rescue, one assault, one assault with a knife, one burglary, one fire, one hit and run and one runaway juvenile
