On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, Jan. 22

7:15 a.m. Report of a truck stuck on BLM land. It was later towed out.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

7:54 a.m. Argument between a mother and son, during which the son was kicked out and a trespass notice was requested.

5:18 p.m. Report of a window being broke out of a vehicle. It was unknown if the break was the result of weather or vandalism.

Thursday, Jan. 24

4:06 p.m. Report of two juveniles driving in East Thermopolis, sliding into a vehicle and taking off. A juvenile was later cited for colliding with an unattended vehicle.

Friday, Jan. 25

5:56 p.m. Raul Garay was arrested on a warrant.

Sunday, Jan. 27

8:07 a.m. Following a family fight, Jesse B. Deacon was arrested for alleged strangulation of a household member.

1:55 p.m. Report of trespassing, though a suspect could not be located.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

2:29 p.m. Complainant reported a neighbor shoveling snow onto his property. The neighbor was contacted and spoken to.

10:50 p.m. Report of suspicious activity at a local motel, such as noises coming from the roof.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

10:49 a.m. Tyler P. Stephens was arrested on an alleged probation violation.

4:15 p.m. Report of a subject under the influence of drugs. The subject was asked to leave the property and did so.

4:33 p.m. Reported fraud, in which the complainant received papers regarding an unpaid bill in Alaska.

5:36 p.m. Subject provided assistance regarding vehicle registration questions.

7:58 p.m. REDDI report, though the suspect vehicle could not be located.

Thursday, Jan. 24

10:40 a.m. Report of a vehicle driving up on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse. The driver was contacted and moved the vehicle.

2:05 p.m. Complainant felt like he was being followed and was advised to request extra patrol and report any issues.

9:11 p.m. Subject had questions regarding firearms being around someone who is not allowed to have them. An alternate location was found for the guns.

Friday, Jan. 25

2:15 p.m. Request from Washakie County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a temporary tag from the Thermopolis area.

Saturday, Jan. 26

5:21 a.m. Amanda Leigh and Jesse J. Krueger were arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

7:54 p.m. A female subject returned home to find her door open. A sweep of showed nothing disturbed.

Monday, Jan. 28

8:02 p.m. Report of what sounded like a dispute. The officer found nothing was going on.

10:05 p.m. Report of two subjects arguing. They were separated for the evening.

10:08 p.m. Report of a robbery in progress. The report was unfounded.

Jordyn Mari Curran was born Monday, January 14, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Hannah Mari and Benjamin Curran.

She weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

Grandparents are Ken and Susan Swick and Ed and Deborah Curran.

Circuit court

Marlene Beebe was found guilty of open alcohol container in Hot Springs State Park and public safety, glass beverage containers prohibited. Fees and fines are $205.

Kimberly Sams was bound over to District Court on six counts of accessory before the fact and four counts of blackmail — accuse or threaten.

Candice R. Griffin was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year in jail with 361 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $755.

Hollie N. Smith was bound over to District Court on possession of a controlled substance and conspiring to commit a felony.

Hanna S. Celmer was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year in jail with 361 days supension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $755.

Robert L. Richter II was found guilty of driving under suspension. Fees and fines are $305.
