This past weekend, Robotics Team No. 4273, Aluminati, traveled to Park City, Utah to compete in the state qualifier. Not only did they qualify for the Utah State Championship that will be in Ogden, Utah in mid-February, but they also earned the Motivate Award.
The award is presented to the team that represents the essence of the FIRST Tech challenge competition through team building, team spirit, shown enthusiasm and connections with the school and community. Among the community activities that Aluminati and Team No. 7238, Fist Full of Axles, have been doing are helping at local businesses, fundraising around town and presenting for service organizations.
Next up for both teams is the Montana State Championship on Jan. 25, and February will see both teams at the Wyoming State Championship.
Those interested in hosting a presentation or sponsoring the teams can contact coach London Jenks at the high school, 864-6511, or email ljenks@hotsprings1.org
