On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Nov. 19

8:04 a.m. Complaint of a vehicle passing a school bus with its stop arm extended.

2:27 p.m. Report that the pump by the water for East Thermopolis Town Hall was damaged. The incident is under investigation.

3:05 p.m. A deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle driving with inappropriate plates. Following a traffic stop, Robert A. Phillips was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Thursday, Nov. 22

12:14 p.m. Report of a possible cut brake line on a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

Saturday, Nov. 24

2 a.m. Quinton T. Shorter was arrested on a Fremont County warrant. Shorter was further cited for driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance in the vehicle.

Sunday, Nov. 25

5:30 p.m. A subject returned home to find tracks in the snow and missing tire chains. The matter is under investigation.

Monday, Nov. 26

6:26 p.m. Report of a vehicle in trouble in the canyon. The vehicle could not be located.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

10:27 a.m. Report of found counterfeit money. The matter is under investigation.

7:19 p.m. A found backpack was turned in.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

2:43 p.m. Complainant reported he was a victim of a scam and was tricked into purchasing gift cards.

7:29 p.m. Report of a subject knocking on doors and running.

Thursday, Nov. 22

10:19 a.m. Assistance provided to Wyoming Highway Patrol during a traffic stop.

12:38 p.m. Officer responded to a domestic dispute. Jacob M. McCreary was arrested for alleged strangulation of a household member.

3:28 p.m. Complainant reported receiving multiple calls regarding supposed activity on a Social Security account. Such calls are a scam.

Saturday, Nov. 24

10:42 a.m.-1:59 p.m. Officers responded to several reports of vehicles being stuck due to the weather, and provided traffic control while the vehicles were righted and back on the road.

Monday, Nov. 26

1:48 p.m. Complainant reported another subject was performing unethical acts.
