People for People Chair-ity auction

If you’re looking for an unusual gift for someone on your list, you have a chance to do just that and donate to a good cause, all at the same time.

The annual Chair-ity Auction, which benefits the People for People Backpack Program will be held this Saturday, Nov. 17 in the Thermopolis Middle School Commons.

From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. you can bid on your favorite from a variety of chairs that have been repurposed, repainted and made adorable for your home or as a gift.

All monies raised at the auction will go to the backpack program which sends home food items for children to use over the weekend who might not otherwise have much to eat. The backpacks are filled with simple to cook, healthy items for the students they can fix themselves.

Backpacks are sent home every Friday.

Judy Carswell said she will be accepting phone bids throughout the day at 921-8264.
