The middle school wrestling team travelled last Saturday to compete at the Buffalo Bandit Invite.
“This weekend in Buffalo,” coach Toby Emery stated, “our boys saw eight non-conference teams thy have never wrestled before. This tournament was a great opportunity for our team. It allowed the boys to get some valuable mat time against new opponents. Roedy Farrell finished first in the A Division at 132 pounds.”
Farrell scored 24 team points, with a 50-second fall over Dominick Berrettini of Sheridan in the Quarterfinal, a 1:42 fall over Ethene Burns of Worland in the Semifinal and a 53-second fall over Alex Jack of Sheridan in the first place match.
“All weight classes in the B Division were set up as four-man round-robin brackets, giving each wrestler three matches,” Emery continued. “Therefore, all B wrestlers placed in the top four and gave them quality mat time. Elijah Skelton placed first at his weight class B 109-133 pounds”

“The boys seemed to feel more comfortable on the mat and are putting together the moves we practice in the room. It’s still early in the season and we have a lot to improve on. This Thursday, Nov. 8 we have a home quad at the high school starting at 4 p.m. and this Saturday we travel to Lander for an invitational tournament.”
