On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, Oct. 9

12:28 p.m. Deputy provided backup for Wyoming Highway Patrol.

9:19 p.m. Leonardo Hernandez and John D. Laster were arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

8:26 p.m. Complainant was concerned about a subject riding around his property and shooting from the vehicle.

Friday, Oct. 12

3:20 p.m. A female subject reported medications had been taken from her home. She called a short while later and reported she had found them.

Saturday, Oct. 13

5:06 p.m. A vehicle received minor damage after sliding off the road due to ice.

6:18 p.m. Joe A. Hall was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender.

Police department

Tuesday, Oct. 9

4:38 p.m. Robert L. Richter was arrested for alleged probation violation.

6:34 p.m. Complainant reported a suspicious subject stopped and asked him an inappropriate question.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

10:03 a.m. A female subject was observed stealing an item and was cited for shoplifting.

10:31 a.m. Kenneth E. Pulver was arrested for alleged probation violation.

7:06 p.m. Report of juveniles wanting to fight each other. Some of the subjects had left prior to the officer’s arrival and the situation had calmed down.

7:37 p.m. Marty S. Custer was arrested for alleged domestic assault and interference with an officer.

Thursday, Oct. 11

11:37 a.m. An officer accompanied Department of Family Services to a home to ensure the residents were OK.

4:30 p.m. Report of a missing juvenile. It was found the juvenile didn’t get off the bus when he should’ve, and he was later located by a parent.

6:36 p.m. A male subject reported a missing female subject and requested help finding her. She was located at another residence.

11:23 p.m. Thomas C. Tynsky was arrested for alleged failure to pay child support and cited for possession of a controlled substance.

Friday, Oct. 12

8:20 a.m. Brad A. Merritt was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.

11:45 a.m. Complainant was concerned someone was trying to get a credit card in his name.

12:55 p.m. Report of a subject who had obtained credit card information and was attempting to make charges.

2:32 p.m. Assistance provided to Department of Family Services to notify subjects their children had been taken into custody in another county.

Saturday, Oct. 13

12:13 p.m. Report of a slashed tire.

Monday, Oct. 15

9:26 p.m. Brody W. Gillespie was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Birth

Ethan Grant Mills was born Friday, October 5, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Isabel Beldon and Dusty Mills.

He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.

Grandparents are Brett and Isabel Beldon and Jim and Ginger Mills. Great-gradfather is Ben Beldon of Thermopolis.

Circuit court

Aaron M. Bissonette as found guilty of violating a protection order and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. Fees and fines are $205.

Thomas C. Tynsky was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $255.
